When George Zimmerman shot and killed 17 year-old Trayvon Martin, he was eventually arrested and put on trial for the crime. The whole country watched as the evidence was presented, witnesses were questioned, and finally a verdict was rendered. Despite the fact that George Zimmerman shot and killed a 17 year-old teenager. Zimmerman’s Not Guilty Verdict Spawned Outage and Death Threats
When the Florida court announced that George Zimmerman was not guilty of the murder of Trayvon Martin, many people were thrilled because they were believers in self-defense, but others were so outraged that he got off for murder that they made threats against Zimmerman’s life. One person that was outraged over the whole Trayvon Martin was Roseanne Barr, and in her rage, she did something that caused the parents of George Zimmerman to file a lawsuit against her.
Roseanne Barr Tweeted Address of Zimmerman’s Parents
According to the lawsuit, Roseanne Barr posted the address of George Zimmerman’s parents on her Twitter account, and encouraged people go to pay the Zimmerman’s parents a visit and take justice into their own hands. Barr even stated that she might go to the Zimmerman’s house herself, but then later on, she deleted the tweet. The parents of George Zimmerman claimed that due to Roseanne Barr’s tweet, they were not able to go home, and also claim to suffer emotional distress. The Zimmerman’s are suing Roseanne Barr for $15,000 dollars.
Did Roseanne Barr go too far when she tweeted, and then deleted, the address of George Zimmerman’s parents? Perhaps in her outrage for the death of a teenage boy she did something foolish, but was that momentary lapse of judgment worth $15,000 or are the Zimmerman’s just trying to make the actress pay out of spite?
