Microsoft Comments on Poor Xbox One Sales Compared to Playstation 4

The Sony Playstation game system revolutionized the way we all play video games. Before the Sony company came out with the Playstation, there was the SEGA game system. The SEGA games were pretty fun, but the graphics looked more like cartoons, and game players wanted realism in their games. Playstation made human beings look more lifelike, which is what players wanted to play with instead of people that looked like blocks. The Sony game system conquered the world, and video game playing was never the same again. Now, the fourth version of the game system is out, and to date, there have been seven million units sold, compared to the only five million that Xbox One sold. Gamers have their own preference about what system to play, so why is it exactly that the Playstation is a much better seller?

Microsoft Claims Better System Makes For Lower Sales

The world of business is amazing, and in it are a lot of really smart men who know how to make a few bucks, take that money, and turn it into millions. When confronted with the sales comparison between the Sony Playstation 4 and the Xbox One, the wise men at Microsoft had an explanation as to why there is such a big gap between the sales of the two systems.

According to Yusuf Mehdi, who is a marketing officer at Microsoft, “it’s hard to really assess the gap in sales…people have been more satisfied with the Xbox 360 than the PS3, so in that respect people have less of a need to upgrade in the short-term due to regular updates for the Xbox 360.”

Also, Mehdi also pointed out that the Playstation is available in more areas than the Xbox One, but during the month of September, the Xbox One will be released in Japan plus 25 other areas; this may give the game system a tremendous sales boost that will either match the Sony or exceed it, but Mehdi will not know for sure until the fall.
