The Islamic State of Iraq has released a video that shows killing of 21 christian Egyptians who were kidnapped in Libya, The Egyptian authorities confirmed the authenticity of the video.
The video shows the kidnapped workers wearing orange jump suits and being taken to an isolated place in a Libyan waterfront where they were beheaded, the men were kidnapped between December and January in a small town in Libya called Sirte. After the video was released the Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi called for a meeting and declared a seven days mourning.
24 hours after the release of the video, on Monday, the Egyptian jets bombed Islamic State targets in Libya, Egypt authorities said that the attack hit militant camps, training sites and weapons storage areas. “And let those near and far know that the Egyptians have a shield that protects and preserves the security of the country, and a sword that eradicates terrorism,” the Egyptian military said in a statement.
Later on, the Egyptian television broadcasted a footage of Egyptian fighter jets taking off with “Long Live Egypt” followed by a video showing the explosions.
Libya sent a clear message that it is against these kind of actions and terrorism by participating in Monday’s attack, Libya’s air force targeted Derna, a coastal town known as a base for the “Ultra-Radical Islamic State”
“There are losses among individuals, ammunition and the (Islamic State) communication centers,” Libyan air force commander Saqer al-Joroushi told the Egyptian television.
After the death of Libya’s leader Muammar Gaddafi who was killed by his own people 3 years ago militias have taken over the country, ISIL took advantage of the chaos and made dozen of deadly attacks. this video was released after a week of the release of the video showing a Jordanian Pilot being burned alive after his plane crashed in Syria in December.
